I’ve been receiving quite a few emails about inserting photos/images in a blog post, so I’ve decided to make this easy-to-learn, completely non-tech-savvy-friendly How-to list, using an image we all could relate with: the fried chicken.

So here’s the list. Just click on each image to enlarge.

Step 1: What you see above is the Compose Page inside WordPress. See the field for the title, those little colorful buttons underneath the title field, another field labeled “Tags,” and right below it is the Upload File field, which you’ll be using to upload images.

Step 2: Click Browse, and a window pops up to let you select the image file (JPG or GIF, maximum 450 pixels wide) from your harddrive. Choose the file, then click Open on that same window.

Step 3: Now click upload.

Step 4: After the file is uploaded, you can see now the image [under the Browse tab]. Nice chicken.

Step 5: Now left-click on that image, and a pull-down menu appears. Left-click Using Thumbnail (1) [you’ll see that Using Thumbnail becomes Using Original (2)], then left-click Close Options to close this menu.

Step 6: Right-click on that same image and this menu appears. Click Copy Image Location.

Step 7: In the Main Compose field, place your cursor within the body of your blog post where you want to insert the image (circled red), then click the Image button (circled red).

Step 9: Clicking the Image button brings up this little window. Right-click on the Image URL field, then click Paste to paste there the URL of the image you copied in Step 6. After that, click Insert.

Step 10: And there you have it, an image in your blog post. Just repeat as desired.
